This catalogue is extremely
well illustrated which is very surprising as it was produced so soon after
the second world war. There are many monochrome photographs not only illustrating
items sold but those items in use. There are also several full page colour
photographs of equipments and several colour hand drawn plates of the Drager
equipment in use. [pt]

KIRKHAM VIXON
Mk 2 AND 2a OXY-HYDROGEN UNDERWATER CUTTING EQUIPMENT
Published by: P Kirkham
& Son
16 printed pages plus a
loose leaf price list.
Dimensions: 20.5 cms tall
by 14.5 cms wide
This is a combined catalogue
and condensed manual for the Kirkham Vixon Oxy-Hydrogen Underwater Cutting
Equipment. The book starts with a full page photograph of the cutting torch
and follows with two pages of parts details and part numbers. Then it goes
into the manual "proper". It isn't divided into chapters, just paragraphs
or sections: "Introduction", "Preperation", "Operation", "Description"
and "Facts to be Noted and Remembered". There are six plates and line drawings
to accompany the text. I am unsure of the date of this book but I think
it is 1950's although the pricelist has the following note "P Kirkham's
patented and designed SEAFIRE of 1945 has made possible the Kirkham Vixen
Mk2". [pt]
