IMPORTANT - PLEASE READ THIS BEFORE POSTING. I have had over the years many enquiries on old books, with requests to value a book, or a 'how to sell' enquiry. I am not a valuer and thus cannot appraise a book's real value. And 'a considerable knowledge' of old diving books does not make me an antiquarian book expert. But, there may be someone 'out there' who can help with your enquiry or make an offer on your book. This webpage has been established to try and help you in some way. If you have a book for sale, by all means post details of it here. All you need to do is email me with whatever details you like, and preferably send a small - repeat small - jpeg of the cover, say above 3 inches wide at 72 dpi. If you have a price, indicate it. If you are seeking offers, say so. And in all cases, be it for a general enquiry or a sale offer, include your general location - state and country is fine - a specific address is not required. In contacting me, I will assume that you are prepared to have your email address listed. If not, tell me so. Always include an appropriate detail in the 'subject' line of the email otherwise my spam blocker may reject it - 'Classic Dive Book Enquiry' would be a suggestion. All communication on your enquiry or sale is to be redirected to you - not to me. I will not broker any sales. All sales negotiation are between you and the customer. I will not enter into any deals and there will be no commission charged if you are successful with a sale. And of course I accept no responsibility if any sale encounters difficulties. You can also post your 'wants' on this webpage. I repeat, this is a totally free listing - there is NO commission. All I expect is a cup of good coffee when I visit your part of the woods!!. In the unusual circumstances that you require complete annonimity, do contact me, but I don't promise any involvement if I am not happy about what is presented. Readers - if you have an interest in the following postings, please contact the enquirer directly by the email address provided. My email is peter@oceans.com.au. My name is Peter Stone and I am located in the south-east of the state of Victoria, Australia. |

From Sandra Knox of Albuquerque, New Mexico, USA I have a copy of "A Narrative of the Loss of the Royal George At Spithead, August, 1782" . The book was published in 1844 and contains beautiful illustrations of the ship. The book pages and cover are intact and in excellent condition. The leather binding is cracked, however, and does need repair. I am interested in selling this book to a good home where it will be appreciated. Please let me know if this book might be of interest to you. Email me s.knox@comcast.net For further details on the book, link to Classic Shipwrecks. |
